An adventure series in progress!

An almost graduate student. This is my identity currently and it's the identity of millions of other students who are suddenly thrown in this dark and never ending well of anxiety. 'What is even happening?', this question keeps ringing in my head along with the lyrics of Ramayan's theme song. As if stepping into the real world was not scary enough, now we have been served a new world altogether. We have never seen such a bizzare event ever, I mean after the last season of 'Sacred games' and 'Game of thrones' ofcourse.

I can go on and on about the crisis and the problems but to be honest (Didn't use the abbreviation to sound official if it helps), the reality is that we are stuck with Covid-19 and it's not going anywhere, anytime soon, so I thought: What are the solutions? Like I said before, I am a student , so I could only have come up with some distractions and whether these distractions can ever be turned into solutions, only time will tell.

So, here are the 'Distractions' that I have tried during this lockdown-

  •  I started like any normal person would, gave into the peer pressure and started watching 'Money Heist'. It's an amazing series and also sounds like an alternative career option but spoiler alert: A lot of them die, so it's not a safe option.

  •  Tried 'tiktok'. I know this sentence screams: Judge me! but it's really fun and quite addicting.

  • Took a break and realized that I have absolutely no clue where my career is heading. The only thing that I can think of at this point is to prepare myself and learn a few new skills, so I began with learning a new language: Korean. I downloaded this app recommended by a friend, called 'Duolingo'. It's a fun app and teaches you a new language with the help of fun games. I must say Korean is a difficult language to learn but it's not like I have anything else to do. You can learn any language that you want on this app.

  • I can now cook easily. A sentence which my family thought can only be a myth. I have made so many new dishes in this past month that opening a restaurant has made an official entry to my book of 'I can do this if they don't give me my degree'.

  • Anxiety is my toxic best friend currently and she doesn't want to leave. I started noticing that I was feeling quite fatigued and irritated at home. I am in a lockdown with parents, my siblings and my cousins who are also stuck with us. So basically a lot of teenagers and it can get quite stressful at times. At this point 'Yoga' has been my saviour. The first day of Yoga was all jumbled up and confusing but I got the hang of it and it has really helped me with my energy levels and stress levels.

  • I am also trying to do a few online courses to make my CV look a bit attractive but it's mostly because I want my Mom to think that I am studying and not give me any more house chores. It's a life hack I guess.

  • And lastly, I am binging on 'Brooklyn nine-nine' because it's the only thing that gives me happiness anymore and seriously who else is waiting for the new season because lord knows we need it!
